Paz (pronounced “pause”) is of Latin root origin and means peace.
What does Paz Wellness do?
Paz Wellness is a 501(c)(3) charitable, non-denominational, faith-based wellness center developed to proactively prevent the development and the mitigation of anxiety and depressive disorders. Our overarching goal is promoting emotional and physical wellness, resilience, and meaningful connections. Services provided include therapy, medical support and treatment, educational experiences, mindful movement and other evidence-based wellness.
Who goes to Paz Wellness?
People who are invested in their mental health and looking for ways to cope with life’s challenges in healthy and productive ways using spirituality and faith as the foundation. We cater to individuals, couples, parents, families, and businesses. We welcome clients of all religions, spiritual beliefs, cultures, abilities, ages, sexual orientations, gender identities, and immigration status.
How are your services different from others?
Using faith/spirituality as a foundation for mental wellness, group work, medical support, making meaningful connections, and unique educational opportunities set us apart. Our group courses cover many skills and techniques generally taught in individual therapy, making our services a fraction of the cost. We strive to connect all aspects that contribute to mental wellness including mind, body, spirit, and emotion.
What is your belief regarding how anxiety and depression affects spirituality?
We believe that anxiety and depression inhibit our ability to connect to, and receive, Divine communication. Our goal is to help improve this connection. Evidence suggests that living a life using the Divine promotes overall wellness. We believe that those involved with Paz Wellness have been brought together by a higher power to use our individual and collaborative gifts to help bless our community with peace, hope and healing. We have a “…wholehearted, unreserved devotion to divine responsibility.” (Jeffrey R. Holland, 2021).
What forms of payment do you accept?
The unique approach of Paz Wellness will be cash-based to remove red tape and high, overhead charges of insurance companies. We believe this effort will lower cost, improve accessibility and make services attainable and affordable. Debit cards, credit cards and health savings accounts (HSA’s). We also accept payment from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints bishops and other religious clergy.
Will my health insurance pay for therapy and other services?
We are committed to high-quality, low cost services. For this reason, we do not bill insurance. We are happy to provide you with a detailed receipt to help you seek reimbursement from your insurance company. Please check for specifics with your provider.
What about your faith based component?
We are a respecter of each individual person’s faith and spirituality and believe that they are an integral aspect of both wellness and healing. We will incorporate your own personal faith and cater your wellness treatment in conjunction with your belief system. Paz Wellness does offer specific wellness programs tailored to those contemplating and/or completing missionary service for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
What is your cancellation policy?
A canceled appointment affects three people: you, your provider, and another person who could have potentially benefitted from your time slot. A client can cancel an appointment at any time if they provide 24 hours notice. If you cancel an appointment less than 24 hours notice, or fail to show up, you will be charged the full rate for the appointment. For Monday appointments, you need to cancel on Friday. To cancel an appointment, call Paz Wellness at (435) 535-1371.
What medical services are provided?
Our team of caring and qualified medical professionals may perform an overall health history, focused physical examination, review of wellness patterns in your life, review your medications, and work closely with your primary care provider as a consultant and expert for supporting your personal wellness goals. This may include lab work if desired. All medical services are offered in conjunction with our wellness programs.
I had a really hard week and can use some immediate support. How does your ongoing therapy group work?
Life can definitely throw some unexpected curveballs! Our Bridges therapy group is for people who cannot immediately access a therapist, yet could use essential support and care. Click here to fill out an assessment to see if our weekly therapy group is the best fit for you. Before attending, you must receive confirmation from the therapist. Group members may change each week due to the nature of the service. This is designed as a short term solution where coping skills, emotion regulation and processing will be discussed. If you are having thoughts of harming yourself or others, you should seek immediate help by calling 911 or going to an emergency room.

My teenager seems sad or anxious but is still doing ok in school and life. Is there any reason to bring them in?
If you are interested in having your teen learn strategies to work through anxiety, depression, rejection, conflict resolution, communication, self-compassion, overwhelm, realistic expectations and more, then yes!! Our programs are fun, interactive, and will provide lifelong strategies for working through challenges.
My child is thinking about serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I’m not sure if they will choose to go. Is the pre-mission wellness course still a good fit?
Yes! We strongly believe that an individual should choose on their own accord if they are going to serve a mission. Our pre-mission wellness program discusses strategies for emotional well-being and faith in Jesus Christ. Scenarios from returned missionaries regarding their mental wellness/health/illness in the mission field will provide strategies and skills for your child’s well-being. This will lead to a more prepared and positive missionary experience.
What is the Missionary Wellness Center?
We believe that before serving a mission, prospective missionaries should be armed with tools for mental health! Tools to help with anxiety, depression, feelings of rejection, etc. will all be covered in our programs. Click here for more information.
Are services confidential?

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) contains a privacy rule that creates national standards to protect individuals’ medical records and personal health information, including information about medical records, psychotherapy and mental health. Information is not disclosed without written permission, with some exceptions including: 1) Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse, 2) If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person and/or 3) If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to themselves.
