We are dedicated to supporting the mental health and wellness of youth ages 13-17. We Recognize the crucial role mental health plays in the your child’s overall well-being, we offer a comprehensive range of services tailored to meet their unique needs. Our programs include support groups where teens can connect with peers, individual therapy sessions for personalized care, educational classes that equip them with essential life skills, and an annual summit on mental health that brings together experts and youth for inspiring discussions.

Katie Ball

Therapist

Katie graduated with a master’s of Social Work from Utah State University. She loves working as a mental health therapist and is excited to be part of the Paz team. Katie knows life can often unfold in unexpected ways and we often need help. She believes in empowering individuals and building resilience against life’s challenges. She is experienced in Substance Abuse Recovery, Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, Anxiety, Depression, Self Esteem Issues, and matters of Faith and Spirituality. She believes that each person has a unique experience that deserves support that is tailored individually to fit their needs. Outside of the office, Katie loves to spend time with her husband and three boys. Some of her favorite things are traveling, going to the beach, eating good food, and reading a good book.

Rebecca Martinez

Therapist

Rebecca Martinez is a Certified Social Worker. She currently works as a high school social worker as well as doing individual therapy in a private clinic. Prior to getting her MSW, she worked as a medical and crisis social worker for 19 years in both Utah and Arizona. She was recruited to a start-up company where she helped grow the company and obtain multiple contracts with Arizona Medicaid providers. She loves policy and research. She has a straightforward approach to assisting others. She believes that everyone is doing the best they can with the information they have and in the situation they are in, and understands that life can just feel really difficult and hopeless at times. She believes that education, both formal and informal, unlocks the door to improvement and change. She is thrilled to be able to work with Paz Wellness to provide education and support to our community. Rebecca enjoys spending time with her family and being outdoors. She is determined to find a way to enjoy the long Cache Valley winters. If you know any secrets, let her in on them.

Julie Swensen

Clinical Director

Julie Swensen is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She is an owner of Peak Mental Health and the clinical director of Paz Wellness in Logan UT. Prior to moving into private practice, in 2015, she worked in the acute hospital setting, as well as, working with individuals and their family in the home health/hospice setting. Julie specializes in treating the multitude of ways anxiety, depression and trauma manifest in life, as well as, helping people navigate their ADHD. Julie is a proud Aggie and USU graduate. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree in social work in 2000 and her Master’s degree in 2010. In her downtime Julie can be found spending time with her amazing family, enjoying the great outdoors, studying mental health, eating chips and salsa and sitting in her massage chair.

Our goal is to help people on their mental health journey by understanding that spirituality and faith play a big role in giving hope during healing. We know that trusting in God or a higher power can improve someone’s well-being and make life better. We urge our clients to explore, remember, or find meaning by connecting with their faith and spirituality.

Practical and Affordable Mental Health
We aim to accomplish this through the treatment and prevention of anxiety and depression by incorporating spirituality, psychoeducation and coping skills in a class or group setting. This approach reduces cost for the client and taps into the evidence-based benefits of shared group experiences. When indicated, we also provide individual therapy. We believe in the combination of neuroscience, spirituality, therapy, medical care, education, mindful movement, and connection. We strive to provide options for individuals and families who are needing help but are struggling to find it due to waitlists or insurance barriers.

Paz Wellness welcomes clients of all religions, spiritual beliefs, cultures, abilities, ages, sexual orientations, gender identities, and immigration status. We provide care for all who are seeking help and looking for evidence-based assistance. We strive to promote spiritual-based and strengths-based treatment for all.
